It took us a while to research and find a quality golf resort with an English speaking golf pro and we found Desert Springs and Neil Evans. We only started golf a year and a half ago and had taken some lessons but we really felt we needed a boost. So we were looking for daily lessons and a game in the afternoons.

Neil organises not only the golf for you but also the accommodation and received us with a big smile when we first arrived at the resort.

The resort is really nice, spacious well maintained and so is the golf course. A bit tricky for beginners but nothing we were not able to deal with. While we very much appreciated the quality of the resort, first and foremost we would come back for Neil.

We can highly recommend him for anyone who is looking for a patient and calm way of teaching, and especially his skill in explaining movements in multiple ways. He helps client prefect their setup so as to increase the chance of hitting the ball exactly right, and covers all areas that one might need to perfect ones swings and techniques.

Thank you, Neil for seven days of intense improvement to be repeated asap.

Warm regards and hasta la vista

I have recently returned from a week at the Neil Evans Golf Academy which is based at the Desert Springs Resort close to Almeria in Southern Spain.

Being a reasonable club golfer (10 hcp) I was looking for some tips to help shave a few shots off this and having heard good things about the set up at Desert Springs I travelled with high hopes.

Ahead of the trip, Neil had put together a very attractive deal for me including accommodation, daily tuition with unlimited practice balls and 5 rounds at the renowned Desert Springs course.

The golf academy boasts all the usual training paraphernalia that one might expect from a top class golf academy with a video room, swing plane system, plus an extensive practice area.

Based on our first session Neil then tailored a training program for me for the rest of the week which looked at all aspects of my game, including such things as course management and looking at the thought process behind shot selection.

The course its self at Desert Springs is a challenge for any golfer and despite being late in the season it was very quiet but weather-wise still warm enough to play in just a polo shirt and shorts.

All-in-all I found the whole experience very productive and certainly lived up to my expectations. Hopefully the time with Neil will have provided me with the tools I need to reach my goal of playing with a level of confidence that has been missing from my game in recent seasons.

I have just returned from a week at the Desert Springs Resort including tuition by Neil. Having just taken up golf in April this year I was looking to spend a week trying to improve my game and build my confidence. The experience exceeded all my expectations, the accommodation was great, the food excellent and I learned more from Neil in a few days than I have in the past six months. Neil and Tracey his wife could not have been more helpful in making sure my stay was as comfortable and productive as possible. I would definitely recommend Neil and Desert Springs Resort to anyone wanting to spend some time improving their golf. I am already thinking about returning next year for some more help, tuition and sun.

Just back from an excellent five day break including tuition with Neil which was thoroughly enjoyable in every respect.
Desert Springs is a must if you like first rate facilities, accommodation and food in a very relaxed atmosphere but undoubtedly the icing on the cake for me was the time spent with Neil learning and improving my golf.
Neil is an excellent teacher who gets the best out of you through his relaxed style and individual approach and his attention to detail is second to none. He and his wife Tracey were superb hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. I felt that I could have stayed another few days so I will the next time.

We booked a golf break with some trepidation, but we need not have worried. My non golfer husband and I both had a great week. The booking process, standard of accommodation and mechanics of the holiday were all great, designed to meet our own particular needs and very well organised. The golf experience was a revelation. Neil is an excellent coach. His straight forward instruction, based on careful observation, is easy to implement - and it works! My handicap is on the way down and I'm already looking forward to the next time.

As a single traveller, I was a little nervous booking a golf tuition holiday but, my nerves were misplaced. From the moment that I arrived at the resort, I felt at ease and the opportunity to spend a week just concentrating on my golf has been invaluable. Neil has a fantastic, relaxed style which makes lessons just fly by. The course is challenging but very rewarding and I am looking forward to a return visit.

My wife and I have just come back from a fantastic week long golf break at Desert Springs. Neil looked after us so well, we really didn't want to leave when our week was up. We have learnt so much and had great fun while doing it. We will be back - thanks Neil.

Myself and three friends had a great holiday at Desert Springs. The course, the resort, the tuition and the golf were all top class. I would recommend this holiday to anyone.

Chris Tomlins - England

As a single golfer, I was unsure how much value I would get out of a tuition holiday but, I shouldn't have worried. Every element of my recent holiday was just perfect. From the tuition each morning to the rounds on the course. It is a rare treat to allow yourself 5 days just to concentrate on one thing and I can tell already that my golf has really improved, as well as my overall confidence on the course. I would recommend this break to anyone that just wants to see some improvement in their game and to enjoy themselves while doing just that.

If you are looking for a tailored package of golf tuition customised specifically for your needs, playing lessons and a choice of accommodation I can thoroughly recommend Neil Evans. I’ve just returned from my first golf tuition break where I had 4 days of tuition in the morning and playing lessons in the afternoon. Neil’s deep knowledge of the game is quite obvious and his friendly approach to coaching gives you the best chance of absorbing any changes needed to improve your swing. All I had to book was the flights, the rest was taken care of. The practice facilities at Desert Springs are as good as I’ve seen. I look forward to returning to meet Neil and Tracey.

If you''re considering getting some help with your game, Neil is definitely the best golf pro I have worked with. Not only are the facilities at Dessert Springs excellent, Neil takes the time to really understand the areas of your game that need work and provides routines, tips and drills which can be easily remembered and applied. I had a great week with Neil with a customised trip of an hour and half of tuition in the morning and 4 rounds of golf over the week in the afternoons. The key is Neil's flexibilty to ensure you get what you want from your holiday. A great break, a transformed swing and a vast improvement in my golf...I'd fully recommended Neil and the service he and his wife, Tracy, provide. Thanks for a mega week - I will be back!!

Greg Gilbert - England

After 20 years of learning bad habits as a self taught golfer, I cant thank Neil enough for giving me the tools and advice to finally achieve a level of consistency with my game. My short game has improved hugely thanks to Neil's tuition. And what better way to get some great tips from a great pro than in the beautiful setting that is Desert Springs. The facilities and customer service are simply fantastic, a real breath of fresh air! I'm looking forward to going back to see what else Neil can add to my game!

Julie and myself were a bit nervous undertaking our first golfing holiday – we should not have been. We had a great week with Neil and the staff at Desert Springs. The tuition from Neil was first class as was the 18 hole golf course. Although very challenging especially when the balls went into the Desert! We both felt we learnt a lot about golf strategy as well as improving our game.

The Desert Springs Golf Complex was excellent, as was the food, the accommodation and service from all the staff.
We would highly recommend anyone interested in improving their golf as well as having a great time to go to Desert Springs Golf Resort. We will certainly be looking at doing this again in the future.

I was a bit nervous about what the school would be like and whether I would get any lasting benefit from it. The nervousness was misplaced. The course is challenging but fair, Neil's tuition individually tailored to finding and trying to correct all my many faults, the accommodation and meals excellent value and the group very sociable. The resort staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I can thoroughly recommend this way of improving your game. The opportunity to have a few days personal and expert tuition, on and off course, away from distractions beats the usual rushed half hour sessions every time.

Professor David Morris - England

I had a great few days with Neil and our Group on the November 2012 Tuition break in ‘Sunny’ Spain …Well, it wasn’t exactly misrepresentation, as I cant blame Neil for 20% sunshine rate …but in hindsight , and as a Golfing ‘virgin’ , I felt that the weather mix was a good thing…After all, maintaining the momentum and practicing in the UK winters will be even more challenging!
Desert Springs Golf resort was excellent, the food, the accomodation and service were all faultless, that coming from a regular traveller too!
What you really want to know is that Neil ( and Tracey , his wife ) were really friendly , available and excellent throughout the trip, with nothing being too much trouble.

At the golf range and on the course and practice areas, Neil was really encouraging & supportive , both for those of us just starting out , and also equally to the seasoned players with handicaps. The trip was well planned, the tuition varied and flexible and nothing was too much effort to meet any idiosyncratic needs that arose. I was fortunate to be part of a really friendly group of people and our meal times together were a delight. Highly recommended for all levels and for singles too. Thank you!!

As a beginner, I was looking forward to a few days in Spain practising my golf. Playing on an 18 hole golf course, in great weather with like-minded people was fantastic. I enjoyed every minute. The accommodation, the facilities and the food were all excellent (fresh fish cooked to order every day, and amazing tapas in the Spanish bar). My golf improved significantly on this trip due to superb tuition and the opportunity to play on a challenging golf course every day. What a brilliant trip, I can't wait to go again.

Carol Williams - England

What a great holiday! Really good resort, challenging course, nice hotel and excellent food. Every aspect of the break was well organised and planned. It was clear that both Kevin and Neil had done more than they had to - sorting out a free round on our rest day and the nice touch of a souvenir pitch repairer at the end. 2 hours coaching a day was a real bonus and very effective, which achieved positive results for all of us. What a laugh we all had too, I haven't laughed so much in a long time! Overall, great fun, good value. Would I go again - absolutely!"

Paula Dolan - Sweden

As a golf novice, having lessons once a week and not really making the time to practice and consolidate what I learnt each lesson, I decided that this holiday would either make or break me. It was a fantastic experience, two hours coaching everyday with the opportunity to play 18 holes for the first time, in fabulous weather conditions, great freshly cooked food and accommodation to match. Everything was very well organised and our evenings very pleasant, spent with like minded people. I have played every day bar two since I got back and I plan to go on the next holiday in September, so I guess that confirms how good it was and that I am now well and truly hooked!

Warwick School took a group of 16 boys and 2 staff to Valle Del Este for 6 days during the October half term 2011. It was a fantastic experience for all involved, good hotel, good food, fabulous weather, excellent golf practice facilities, challenging and picturesque golf course and very profitable and enjoyable lessons from resident Pro, Neil Evans. The administration and organization was spot on and the whole group returned having both improved as golfers and having had a terrific week. A 2nd trip is already being planned for 2012.
